Atenas won the fifth game of the finals against Racing de Chivilcoy played in Córdoba. The Greek became champion in the Argentine League in front of the packed Carlos Cerrutti Sports Center and will return to the highest category of national basketball next season. Lucas Arn was the top scorer for the Córdoba team.

The fifth match of the finals in the Argentine League, played on Córdoba soil, was all local. From the beginning, El Griego managed to mark a distance with Racing de Chivilcoy, which could not get a foothold on the field. With their key player, Lucas Arn (21 points, 6 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 steal), those led by Gustavo Peirone made Cerrutti a strength in the decisive match and with excellent defense, they kept the visiting team erratic. Athens retired at halftime ahead by ten points and one step closer to the title.
During the second half, the Cordobans continued with their good performance and further stretched their difference with the Chivilcoyans. The visit tried to stay in the game with Luciano Ortiz (15 points, 8 rebounds) at the helm, but with the start of the last period, the distance between the two seemed defining. Athens reached a 26-score advantage, the highest of the entire match, perhaps an exaggerated result given how the series turned out. The people of Buenos Aires reduced that gap in goals, and the Greek took the game along with the title by 23 points.
The Greek turns around
After a year in the second division of Argentine basketball, Atenas returns to the National League. The top champion of the largest local competition will return to the place where he belongs after fulfilling a goal that seemed indispensable this season. The Greek has nine LNB titles and one Argentine League title to his credit.
