A home located in the town of Alacranes, in the Matanzas municipality of Unión de Reyes, suffered a partial collapse in the middle of a blackout this Friday, according to reports from journalists from official media on social networks.
The incident was reported by the correspondent and announcer of the Radio Unión Matanzas station, Hanoi Moreno Enriquezwho stressed that there were “no deaths or injuries” in the incident.
“Partial collapse is reported in a home located in the town of Alacranes, on General Betancourt Street. The owner of the home was not at home at that time and work is now underway to quantify the material damage,” reported the official journalist.
For his part, the director of the station, announcer and journalist from Radio Unión Matanzas, Yaudel Rodríguez Ventospecified on Facebook that “specialized brigades from the Electric Company are at the scene.”
Images shared by Moreno Enríquez allowed workers from the state electricity company to be seen working at the scene. The complete darkness of General Betancourt Street in Alacranes made it difficult to appreciate the magnitude of the collapse in the images taken by the correspondent.
“The main political and government authorities of the town came to the scene of the events,” said Moreno Enríquez. For his part, Rodríguez Vento added that the first secretary of the party in Unión de Reyes, Arlen González Luis“explained that the owner of the home was not inside at that time and that work is now being done to quantify the material damage.”
