Three people died after a bomb car exploded last night near a police station in the town of Taminango, in the department of Nariñoas reported this Saturday by the Government of this department.

After the attack, the authorities confirmed the death of a police officer and a woman, while others six people were injured due to the force of the explosion that caused damage to doors and windows of buildings near the police station.

But this Saturday, the Government of Nariño added another death, that of a man, and explained that nine people were injured.

“We express our regret and solidarity with relatives and friends of the three people who lost their lives after the deplorable act.. A merchant, a man and a young member of the National Police. Likewise, we hope that the nine people who were injured recover satisfactorily,” the Government said in a statement.

The attack occurred in township of El Remolinoand after which this Saturday the local authorities will hold a security council.

“From now on we will make the necessary efforts to offer the greatest possible financial reward so that those responsible for the atrocious event are identified, brought to the orders of the competent authorities and prosecuted,” said the statement signed by the governor of Nariño, Luis Alfonso Escobar.

With this new death, there are four deaths in the violent day on Friday, where there was also a police officer killed and a second lieutenant injured in a attack in Curumaniin the department of Cesar (northeast).

Hours earlier, six police officers were injured in an attack carried out with explosives in the neighboring department of Bolívar (north).

The violent day was condemned by the Colombian president, Gustavo Petro, who said on his X account: “We deeply regret the loss of patrolman Brayan Mojica Santos and the uniformed officers injured in the terrorist attacks in Taminango, Nariño, and Curumaní, Cesar”.
