Three people died after a car bomb exploded last night near a Police station in the town of Taminango, in the department of Nariño, as reported this Saturday by the Government of this department in southwestern Colombia.

After the attack, authorities confirmed the death of a police officer and a woman, while six other people were injured by the force of the explosion that caused damage to doors and windows of buildings near the police station.

But this Saturday, the Government of Nariño – bordering Ecuador – added another death, that of a man, and explained that nine people were injured.

“We express our regret and solidarity with relatives and friends of the three people who lost their lives after the deplorable act. A merchant, a man and a young member of the National Police. Likewise, we hope that the nine people who were injured will be recover in a satisfactory manner,” the Government said in a statement.

The attack occurred in the town of El Remolino, and after this Saturday the local authorities will hold a security council.

“From now on we will make the necessary efforts to offer the greatest possible financial reward so that those responsible for the atrocious event are identified, brought to the orders of the competent authorities and prosecuted,” said the statement signed by the governor of Nariño, Luis Alfonso Escobar.
