Two people were injured in a traffic accident that occurred last night, at 11:20 p.m., on Provincial Route No. 1, about 800 meters from the police station in the town of Singuil, in Ambato.
As reported by the Institutional Relations Division of the Police, the road accident was caused by a Motomel Blitz 125 cc motorcycle, commanded by Walter Omar Ortiz (25), in the company of Antonella Araceli Yapura (25).
For reasons that are the subject of investigation, the driver lost control of the vehicle and both fell to the asphalt. Ortiz and Yapura – they explained – suffered injuries and had to be assisted by medical personnel from the local hospital, so police officers from the Los Varela Police Station finally worked under directives from the Northern District Investigative Prosecutor’s Office.
Another road accident occurred at approximately 11:40 p.m. on Provincial Route 1, near the entrance to the town of Las Pirquitas, Fray Mamerto Esquiú.
Police sources reported that Cristian Esteban Campos (40) was riding a Tomaselli TBR bicycle when he lost control of the vehicle and fell onto the asphalt.
The cyclist suffered injuries and was taken to the San Juan Bautista Hospital in this capital city.
Police officers from the Piedra Blanca Police Station and investigators from Judicial Unit No. 11 worked at the scene to carry out the required actions.
