An “XXL weekend” that exceeded tourist expectations in Córdoba

With a very different configuration from the first long weekend in June, where occupancy in general was moderate, this “XXL weekend” reactivated the tourist circuit in another way in all the mountain towns and in the city of Córdoba itself.

“It is completely full, on Wednesdays and Thursdays more people arrived than expected and the reservations were completed,” said the Secretary of Tourism of Villa General Belgrano, Gabriela Cachayu.

The brewing town leads the tourist preference in the Calamuchita Valley, with a greater number of annual accommodation days than any other. Official figures indicate that they reached 100% occupancy these days. Although they anticipated in advance a greater influx than the previous weekend, they did not hide their surprise at filling the places.

“I rented all the available cabins, during the previous one, the complex was closed,” remarked a cabin owner from Santa Rosa de Calamuchita. The same impression emerged from consultations with officials and tour operators from the different locations in the Calamuchita corridor.

“We are between 80 and 85% of accommodation covered, some establishments with full occupancy and others to a lesser extent, but it can be considered that it is a very good weekend,” said Sergio Martina, director of Tourism and Culture of Los Reartes. . He observed many people circulating through the central area of the historic town and through spaces of entrepreneurs and artisans.

Embalse, another of the towns in the tourist corridor, had an average occupancy of 78%, reported from the Tourism area of the Municipality.

Villa Rumipal, meanwhile, was at 61% occupancy, mentioned Facundo Suárez, tourism advisor for the municipality. “In the midst of malaria it is a good record, but it is very low in relation to previous years, during this first semester, I think we are between 20 and 30% less than last year,” he said, contrary to his peers. .

But Suárez said that, in the last meeting of the Federal Network of Tourist Municipalities, emblematic destinations such as Salta or Bariloche, reported a drop in activity similar to those figures, from 20 to 30%.

Villa Carlos Paz and Punilla

The Punilla Valley experienced a weekend with high levels of occupancy and the impact of the tourist influx could be observed in the gastronomic establishments and in the increase in vehicular traffic on the streets and avenues of the tourist destinations.

Carlos Paz was at levels that exceeded 95 percent in 3 and 4 star hotels. And that number was repeated in different parts of Punilla such as La Cumbre and Capilla del Monte.

“Without a doubt, the mobilization that the private sector had with the Carlospasear Autumn proposal fills us with pride and has given strong results in regional and national tourism,” said Avilés.

Traslasierra, full

Mina Clavero, “the pearl of the west”, with the highest offer of places, added approximately 65 percent occupancy. Its Municipal Secretary of Tourism, Alberto Pérez, summarized: “We have an average stay of three overnight stays, and an estimated daily expense of between 35 and 40 thousand pesos per tourist; People came from all over, but especially from Buenos Aires, Santa Fe, Mendoza and Córdoba.
