With the purpose of strengthening environmental conservation in the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta, the Regional Autonomous Corporation of Magdalena Corpamag carried out a significant day of planting native trees in the Betel village, located in the district of Palmor, specifically in the basin of the Seville River, with a view to contributing to the recovery and protection of this important ecosystem.

During the activity, which had the active participation of the local community, comprehensive training on solid waste management was also carried out, which is crucial to promote sustainable and responsible practices among the inhabitants of the area, thus ensuring a long-term positive impact on the natural environment.

It is noteworthy that the planting of native trees not only sought to enrich the biodiversity of the Sierra Nevada, but also mitigate the effects of climate change and strengthen the resilience of local ecosystems against environmental threats, thus promoting sustainable development and the conservation of natural resources in the department of Magdalena.
