Cuban tobacco authorities announced today that they raised 5.15 million euros during a cigar auction in London.

A statement from the Habanos SA corporation distributed in Havana on Friday adds that it was a successful presentation of products from this island in the United Kingdom on June 27, through the first in-person Habanos World Days.

That was time for a gala in honor of the 55 years of the Premium cigar brand of this country Trinidad, comments the official message.

They highlight that during the ceremony, one of the brand’s great novelties, the Trinidad Cabildos Premier Limited Edition, was unveiled for the world premiere, and five million 150 thousand euros were raised in an auction of five exclusive humidors.

The first in-person edition of Habanos World Days, organised by Habanos, SA and its exclusive distributor in the United Kingdom, Hunters & Frankau, concluded with a historic Gala Dinner attended by 400 guests from around the world.

The evening took place at the emblematic Victoria & Albert Museum in London, a unique space to host a memorable event full of symbolism in which Habano lovers were able to honor the rich heritage and excellence that the prestigious Trinidad brand boasts in its 55th Anniversary.

The report explains that the evening began in the John Madejski Garden, an unbeatable setting where guests could enjoy champagne, cocktails and Trinidad Vigia before entering the Raphael Court, where surrounded by seven large-scale tapestry designs painted by Raphael, they could enjoy an exquisite dinner.

These designs are considered one of the greatest treasures of the Renaissance and were the backdrop for an unforgettable experience. Faithful to its fundamental premise, innovation and tradition, Habanos, SA surprised those present with the launch of a world premiere.

Trinidad Cabildos Limited Edition 2024, an exclusive vitola measuring 46 by 162 millimeters long, pays tribute to the Villa de Santísima Trinidad – declared a World Heritage Site by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) in 1988.

In this way, the product honors one of the first town councils founded in Cuba during the colonial era.

The first 50 thousand cigars of this limited edition were presented in an exclusive production for the United Kingdom, with 10 thousand numbered boxes.

Each box contains five cigars aged for at least two years and produced Totally by Hand with Long Filler.

They all include a special Premier Limited Edition ring, in addition to the commemorative ring with NFC technology (Near-field communication, wireless, short-range, high-frequency communication that allows data exchange between devices).

The lucky ones present at the dinner were able to taste these Cuban cigars exclusively for the first time, the statement emphasizes.

This vitola will be available in all markets around the world later in a packaging designed for this launch, with 12 cigars that incorporate an additional ring identifying the Limited Edition, and a commemorative stand-up with NFC, designed exclusively, they insisted.

During the ceremony, the Co-President of Habanos SA, Luis Sánchez-Harguindey Pardo de Vera, toasted not only the brand’s legacy, but also a promising future for these products, especially the presentations as a world premiere.

The Habanos Corporation, S.A. is a world leader in the marketing of premium cigars both in Cuba and in the rest of the world. To achieve this, it has an exclusive distribution network present in the five continents and in more than 130 territories (www.habanos.com).

Habanos, SA sells 27 Premium brands made entirely by hand, among which Cohiba, Montecristo, Romeo y Julieta, Partagás, Hoyo de Monterrey, H. Upmann and Trinidad stand out, among others, which have the additional distinction of being covered by the Denomination of Protected Origin (DOP) HABANOS.
