Next Saturday, June 29, from 10 in the morning, the first date of the Municipal Chess League, 2024 edition, will take place in the Hall of Mirrors of the Municipality Club (Avellaneda 2751 – Alta Córdoba neighborhood).

The Municipality of Córdoba, through the Secretariat of Neighborhood Strengthening and Sports, carries out this third edition of the Municipal Chess League, an unprecedented event in our city that promotes the practice and dissemination of the science game as an educational and social inclusion tool.

The League is played with the Swiss system, that is, without direct elimination and five rounds, so all participants will play five 15-minute games.

The tournament has two general categories: children up to 12 years old and amateurs, who will compete according to a key that is set up during the registration of the participants at the event site.

In the end, with the dates of the current year being disputed, the one who accumulates the most points will be the winner.

The Municipal Chess League is the continuity of the “Córdoba, the City Thinks” course, an initiative of the Undersecretariat of Sports and Recreation that seeks to promote chess as a pedagogical, social and inclusive tool, which covers all ages and all levels. educational.

The Chess Federation of the Province of Córdoba (FAPC) supports the holding of this competition and will be in charge of supervision, providing the playing material and the tournament judges.
