The sporting event that will pass through Armenia, La Tebaida, Montenegro, Quimbaya, Filandia and Circasia, will take place from June 28 to 30.

The landscapes of Quindío will mark the route of the sixth edition of the Gran Fondo Nairo Quintana, which expects to receive at least 10,000 people, among the more than 4,000 athletes who are already registered and their families, who will arrive the last weekend of this month to the department.

The governor of Quindío, Juan Miguel Galvis Bedoya, at a press conference held on the occasion of the official launch of the event,He praised the union of the private company with the public sector and the leadership of what is considered one of the best cyclists of all time, who made this synergy possible.

The long-awaited sporting event will take place from June 28 to 30and will pass through the municipalities of Armenia, La Tebaida, Montenegro, Quimbaya, Filandia and Circasiawhere crank fans will have the opportunity to meet professional and amateur riders to cheer them on.

During the meeting with the region’s media, the Colombian athlete sent, through a video call,a message of gratitude to all the entities that made this dream possible, which will travel 125 kilometers between the six municipalitiesQuindians.

“For me it is a real pride, to be able to present the best of my land, of my Colombia, how beautiful its people and its food are.It will be a spectacular weekend for all of us, unforgettable,and possibly repeatable if you allow me there. I am very happy with this new version of the Gran Fondo because Quindío is small, but the people there make it big,” said Nairo Quintana.

In this way, the cyclist from Boyacá did not rule out the possibility of making a second version, which was supported by his manager and director of the Gran Fondo Nairo Quintana, Luisa Fernanda Ríos, who greeted the mayors of Génova and Buenavista, assuring that they will seek the way to extend the route to these two towns in next year’s event.

The Gran Fondo Nairo also seeks to become a family space with conferences led by the leaders of Colombian cycling and experts such as Doctor Bayter, in addition to activities such as Nairo Kids, a circuit designed especially for children between 2 and 12 years old. They will take the Soleden Park in Comfenalco Quindío, on June 29.
