The Government delivered three new Energy Communities in the department of Guainía, to the Chatare, Carpintero and El Venado indigenous reservations.

Thanks to a hybrid/agrivoltaic system, the benefited communities will have, for the first time, 24/7 electricity service.

The project, which had an investment of $15.25 billion and consisted of the installation of 544 solar panels, will provide hybrid generation of 220.31 kWp.

“Today we deliver these three Energy Communities that have a dual purpose: to generate photovoltaic energy and also to serve as orchards for agricultural production,” said the Minister of Mines and Energy, Andrés Camacho.

Clean energy in Non-Interconnected Areas

Danny Ramírez, director of IPSE, said that “it is not only about bringing energy. “We continue to design and implement energy solutions that adjust to the social, cultural and economic dynamics of the Non-Interconnected Zones.”

“Today we can enjoy clean energy here in the El Venado reservation, in this beautiful community we have. And we also have electricity 24 hours a day,” said Ferney Rodríguez Cordero, governor of the reservation.

The delivery to these communities was made by the Ministry of Mines and Energy and the Institute for Planning and Promotion of Energy Solutions (IPSE), in the region where President Gustavo Petro presented, in 2022, the National Development Plan ‘Colombia World Power of the life’.
