Coyhaique.- Autonomous proceedings carried out by the Carabineros of Coyhaique, allowed the arrest in record time of a woman with extensive criminal commitment for her alleged responsibility in a crime of homicide recorded early this Sunday in the commune of Coyhaique, also managing to identify four others people as witnesses of this unfortunate event.
Background reported by the Carabineros Commissioner of this city, Major Gerardo González López, shows that an alert issued by the Samu, enabling a timely response.
“Carabineros went to the scene in response to a request from Samu, for a person who was in serious condition with life-threatening risk as a result of an attack with a knife,” said the Officer.
Given the above, Carabineros immediately went to the scene of the events on Manuel Salas Street, and were able to verify the victim with signs of aggression and injury in the thoracic region.
“There were four adults inside a building who are currently serving as witnesses and when asked what happened, these people indicated that an argument had occurred and as a result of this a person – who was no longer there – and that “He would have fled, he would have attacked this person with a knife,” said the Coyhaique Commissioner.
Autonomous actions
After the personnel arrived at the scene, Carabineros was able to notice biological evidence not only in the property, but also in the passage, after which the site of the event was isolated, in order to determine through expert reports whether it is of evidence associated with this victim or another event.
“Carabineros within their autonomous actions at the scene, a person indicates that he knows (the alleged aggressor), that he knows where she lives and where she is at that minute. That is why Carabineros quickly deployed to that address, we cordoned off the place where this person would be and we made a voluntary entry into this property, proceeding to arrest this person who is accused of this crime of homicide,” explained the Major. Gerardo González.
The accused and the other four people who were inside the home register extensive criminal involvement, who together add up to more than 40 previous arrests by Carabineros, while the accused registers eight previous arrests for various crimes.
Likewise, one of the witnesses to the incident had a current arrest warrant, being detained under the national plan to search for fugitives, and being brought to justice.
The background of the procedure was reported to the local Prosecutor’s Office of this city, with the investigation of the case being referred to the PDI.
