Tourists spent an average of $40,000 pesos daily in La Rioja on the long weekend that just ended. The information was collected by a national CAME study.
“With a daily expenditure per tourist of $40,000, one of the strong points of the weekend passed through Sanagasta, where the Argentine Enduro Championship was held, which brought together the best motorcycling riders in the country. Other busy cities were La Rioja, capital , Chilecito and Villa Unión”, highlights the study.
When the research mentions daily expenses, it includes food, accommodation, excursions and transportation within the provincial territory per person.
“The Coastal Corridor, the Santa Teresita hot springs and the Laguna Brava Provincial Reserve were other busy places over the weekend,” he adds in another section of the published information.
While at the national level, it highlights that “the number of people who moved was 20% lower than the same weekend last year, which had the same number of days (4) and spent 24.3% less at real prices.” However, he points out that when taking the two weekends there was greater movement although with a drop in real spending above 4%.
“About 800,000 traveled for the Immortality of Güemes, from June 14 to 17, and 1.8 million did so this weekend for Flag Day,” they revealed.
The figures published in this note come from the study published by CAME based on its own data, information from the National Tourism Secretariat and data provided by regional chambers and federations. The time period analyzed is the last long weekend and also partially the previous one.
