HAVANA.- Food production and crime control will focus on the agenda of the VIII Plenary Session of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba, which will meet on July 5 and 6, Granma newspaper reported today.
According to the source, the meeting will also analyze matters related to the prevention and confrontation of corruption, crime, illegalities and social indiscipline, phenomena that threaten the social well-being and the achievements of our people, and that They demand a battle that requires the conscious participation of everyone. These fronts are impacted by the intensified economic, commercial and financial blockade of the United States against Cuba and, therefore, its consequences weigh on the prosperity of our population, the note noted.
He also pointed out that these issues are classified by the country’s leadership as national security, since their stability offers guarantees for the gradual recovery of national life.
In the Plenary Session, the Political Bureau of the Central Committee will also report on its management in the period that has elapsed since the previous meeting, as a sign of adherence to the principles of democracy and transparency that characterize our revolutionary process and the party organization as the vanguard of the society, stated the text.
