A new act of mutiny occurred in the police transitional detention center known as the old Alpina warehouses in the south of Neiva, where in the last few hours more than 300 people who remain imprisoned have planned a massive escape.

The commander of the Neiva Metropolitan Police, Colonel Alexander Castillo, confirmed to Blu Radio that the detainees caused a fire inside the cells and the perforation of one of the walls of the detention center through which they intended to escape.

“There is a riot by people deprived of their liberty from the temporary detention center in the old Alpina warehouses, with the purpose of carrying out an escape action. These people create a fire outbreak and cause damage to the cells.bars and the perforation of one of the walls of the detention center structure,” Colonel Castillo told Blu Radio.

Given this serious situation of rioting, it was necessary to immediately deploy more than 300 riot police and 50 men from the National Armywho managed to control and prevent the massive escape that the detainees were planning.
