Havana-Pinar last minute service will be relocated

On July 1st, the last minute service for passengers traveling from Havana to Pinar del Río will begin at the Almendares terminal (near the intersection of Calle 100 and Avenida Boyeros), by the National Bus Company (EON).

As Eduardo Rodríguez Dávila, Minister of Transportation, explains on his Facebook profile, the decision optimizes travel times, alleviates the transfer of passengers and minimizes fuel costs, since currently the service is offered by waiting list at the terminal. Villanueva, located in a completely opposite direction to the westernmost territory, meanwhile, the new facility is very close to the national highway and the central highway, access roads to Vueltabajo.

He also assured that road tests were carried out to ensure that the buses can travel satisfactorily, make their cuts at the parking lot exit and park with the required space.

Rodríguez Dávila specified that the signage, lighting and patching of the terminal entrance on Boyeros Avenue are pending, delayed by the intense rains recorded in Havana.

The head of the sector also pointed out that during the month of June organizational actions were carried out by the Viajero Company, which included the expansion of the sale of tickets at ticket offices, hence the users of the entity can access train tickets here and of bus.

To the city of Pinar del Río there are 6 daily bus departures, to which are added those from Mantua (Tuesdays and Saturdays) and Sandino (Mondays and Fridays). The train routes Artemisa – Havana, Batabanó – Havana and Pinar del Río – Havana pass through the Almendares terminal; Therefore, starting July 1, travelers who decide to wait in Almendares for a faulty bus will also have the opportunity to board the train to Pinar del Río or another intermediate municipality.

Other measures are related to the reorganization of private means of transportation, which will guarantee three transportation alternatives in a single place, with the possibility that each person can choose depending on the opportunities and their possibilities.
