The passage of several frontal systems in much of Chile resulted in historic frosts in some parts of our territory.
The most affected areas coincide with those that have suffered recent rains, presenting a varied intensity of cold throughout the national territory.
According to the Meteorological Office of Chile, in the extreme south of the country, thermometers have registered significant drops. Balmaceda, in the Aysén region, reached -21°, being the town where the lowest temperature in the world was recorded this Monday.
Along those lines, Coyhaique recorded a minimum of -12°, while in Punta Arenas a minimum of -11° was recorded.
It should be noted that these records do not consider Antarctica, which today, for example, in Concordia marked -71.7 °C.
