The Managuaco Livestock Company, one of the most important in the livestock development of Sancti Spíritus, stands out today in the application of genetics in cattle, sheep and buffalo.
Their results were added to the successes of the people of Sancti Spiritus so that the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Party granted them the celebration of the national event for the 71st anniversary of the assaults on the Moncada and Carlos Manuel de Céspedes barracks.
Juan Manuel Meneses, deputy director of production, explained to Prensa Latina that comprehensive strengthening begins with genetic work, vital in the livestock scenario, where technologies benefit its progress.

In increasing the livestock mass, he said, artificial insemination with semen from selected bulls with high genetic value plays a fundamental role.
The company receives, he said, the support of university centers, polytechnic schools and several specialized institutions such as the Research Center for Animal Improvement of Tropical Livestock. Technicians, specialists and workers are the functional center to fulfill projects such as the food chain, with a distinctive protein base directed at the transit of life of the mass.
In the entity there are two gestation centers and one for heifers already loaded with all the conditions of food, water, security, salts, tranquility and attention in search of healthy calves, he added.
Regarding the attention to men, he commented that the aim is to humanize work with technologies in favor of productivity and the application of genetics on the path to achieving high efficiency rates.
In these tasks, mechanized milking stands out, the organization of feeding methods where consumption per animal is not based on manual cutting and everything is linked to the use of quartering of animals.
Other projections are the use of energy and the change in the energy matrix on various fronts and activities; Currently 72 windmills operate and solar energy is used to supply water.
In addition, Managuaco has a certified meat plant where animals from the company and private producers are slaughtered. There, picadillos are made, we separate specific cuts of meat for the population and other destinations.
Together with these projections, the search for chaining and the collection of foreign currency with online offers is maintained to strengthen the economy, diversify productions and open new paths to benefit the well-being of workers. Meneses added.
