As part of his visit to Cuba, the Secretary General of the Postal Union for the Americas, Spain and Portugal (UPAEP), Mr. Franklin Castro, held a cordial meeting this Monday with Mayra Arevich Marín, Minister of Communications (MINCOM).

Later he was received at the OSDE, Correos de Cuba, where he received detailed information about the particularities of business management and the own and third-party services that the Cuban postal organization currently provides, about which the President of the Correos de Cuba Business Group, Pablo Julio Pla Feria, said that the group works intensely on the modernization of the Cuban post office, on processes based on the automation of operations, on the digital transformation of the units and on the diversification of services, with particular emphasis on financial services. and parcel services, a strategy that includes the conclusion of contracts with other state and private economic actors in the country and abroad.
The agenda of the Secretary General of the UPAEP’s visit to the island, which will last until next Thursday, includes a tour of the International Messaging and Exchange Company (EMCI) and his participation in the UPAEP Remuneration and Costs Workshop, which will take place in the resort of Varadero from June 26 to 28.
