The prosecutor’s office requests that they be imposed 22.6 years in prison for an accused of, allegedly, mistreat and fire his parents’ home in a town in Córdoba. In his provisional conclusions, he attributes to him the commission of up to 11 crimes, among which are the aforementioned abuse; damage (to the property) due to fire; threats; coercion and a crime against the Administration of Justice. He also indicates that the defendant is diagnosed with a mixed personality disorder, but the forensic doctor has not been able to recognize him due to his lack of collaboration.

The events allegedly occurred last year and the accused has been in provisional prison since then. The public ministry indicates that this person lived with his parents, in a home attached to the main house. According to his description of what happened, “on multiple occasions” he pushed, hit and punched them, and subjected them to humiliation and insults. Furthermore, he caused fires and explosions in the family home “with the intention of intimidating and frightening them.” He also told them that he was going to kill them and burn down their home or business, and he even prevented them from leaving these properties.

On one occasion, after receiving a threat and a kick in the chest, the accused’s father reported the events. After this, new threats, attacks and two fires in the property arrived. During this time, a court in the judicial district of Posadas agreed to prohibit contact and communication with his parents, and he was searched and captured after barricading himself in his home.

“I’m going to dismember you”

Among other situations, he even told his mother “I’m going to kill you and dismember you,” according to the prosecutor’s office. Finally, the document of this accusation indicates that the Provincial Firefighters Consortium had to go to the family’s home to put out the second fire for which it is accused. The next day, the defendant entered prison.

Along with the prison sentences, which total 22.6 years, the prosecutor demands that other measures be imposed such as the prohibition of approaching his parents and communicating with them, and the deprivation of the right to own and carry weapons. Likewise, he demands that the defendant pay compensation of 12,976 euros for the damage caused to the home with the two fires and 458 euros to the Firefighters Consortium for his actions to put out the flames. The facts will soon be judged by a Criminal Court of Córdoba.
