The Mayor’s Office of Santa Marta led a working group with more than 25 presidents of the community action boards of the rural area, The district administration focused on addressing the needs presented by the population.

The work session had been agreed upon and coordinated by the Office of Local Affairs and Participation of the Government Secretariat, under the direction of Julio Carbonó.

“In this activity, we have managed to resolve all the concerns raised by the JAC, offering specialized advice on issues such as the registration and certification of the Single Communal Registry (RUC) and the updating of statutes, among other essential services,” Carbonó highlighted during the meeting.

Mayor Carlos Pinedo Cuello reaffirmed his commitment to the comprehensive development of rural communities, ensuring that this initiative reflects his vision of prioritizing direct support to the JACs. For the administration, it is essential to ensure that the Guachaca Community Action Boards and their villages are never helpless. Together with our community leaders, we will continue to work hard to ensure effective responses and sustainable solutions to these needs.

The Government Secretariat will provide continuous support and technical assistance for any situation that arises in the future, thus making it easier for communities to apply for the next neighborhood works program and other projects of national importance.

The Government Secretariat of the District of Santa Marta reiterates its commitment to continue strengthening the link with rural communities, under the direction of Mayor Carlos Pinedo Cuello, to guarantee inclusive and sustainable development throughout the territory.
