National Roads announced that will cut Route 40 by bad weather conditions. They indicated that it will be in the Siete Lagos area, between the access to Meliquina and the junction with Route 231. The blockade will begin this same Tuesday, from 6:00 p.m.. A significant fall of snow and strong gusts of wind are expected in the area.
The national body stated that The cut is scheduled to be lifted on Wednesday at 9. However, It could spread if the weather does not improve. This will be informed during the same day.
Along with this measure, it was announced that “agents and teams from the 12th Neuquén District will be working on site with the aim of normalizing the situation and guaranteeing the safety of users.”
Area suffered the scourge of the storm during last long weekend. On Thursday, hundreds of tourists were left stranded due to the accumulation of snow and ice on the road on Route 237, landslides, power outages and endless related problems were recorded.
Now, the National Weather Service announced yellow alert for snowfall and wind in Bariloche and surroundings, while which rises to orange for the Neuquén mountain range areafrom Villa La Angostura and San Martín de los Andes.
