ANDOn June 28 at 8:00 p.m., the Astronomical Observatory of Córdoba will be the setting for a new conference within the “Women in Astronomy” cycle. On this occasion, the talk titled «Galaxies, the bricks of the Universe» will be presented by Valeria Aylén Cristiani.
Communicating science is a fundamental task for any scientific institution, and the Astronomical Observatory of Córdoba, the first scientific institution in the country, is carefully dedicated to this mission.
Through scientific dissemination, we seek to make specialized knowledge accessible. This not only inspires future generations, but also strengthens a society capable of meeting the challenges of the future with a solid foundation of knowledge and understanding.
About the Conference
Humanity has looked to the sky for answers since time immemorial, but only in the last hundred years have we confirmed the existence of galaxies.
In this lecture, Valeria Cristiani will guide us through a fascinating tour of what we currently know about galaxies, from the most remote ones to our own galaxy, the Milky Way. This event promises to not only inform, but also inspire all attendees to delve deeper in the mysteries of the universe.
This talk will take place on Friday, June 28 at 8:00 p.m. in the Mirta Mosconi auditorium, Astronomical Observatory of Córdoba. Laprida 854.
Admission is free and does not require prior knowledge.
After the conference, you can take guided tours of the museum and observations through the Equatorial Telescope, if the weather permits (it should not be cloudy to be able to observe and reservations are not necessary).
