Yuli Henao was killed by multiple knife wounds inflicted by her partner while they were in the couple’s home. The aggressor was captured with the support of the community.
There is pain and consternation among the inhabitants of Cimitarra, Santander, due to the death of teacher Yuli Henao in events that occurred on the morning of this Tuesday, June 25, in the Diamante neighborhood of the town’s urban area.
The preliminary details of what happened were delivered to Vanguardia by the Secretary of Government of Cimitarra, Ómar Esneider Galvis, who indicated that an argument occurred between a married couple and subsequent attack with a sharp weapon. The aggressor was identified as Carlos Estiven Martínez Barrera, who was apparently under the influence of liquor.
“We are investigating what happened, the subject was captured with the support of the community. The wounds were in the chest and two of the woman’s children, minors, were also injured, but not seriously,” the official said.

In videos provided by residents of the town, it is seen when the husband attacks the woman, one more image shows when she is transported in the cargo part of a truck to the San Juan de Cimitarra Hospital, but due to the severity of the injuries, she died.
Her husband was captured by uniformed Cimitarra Police and was expected to be presented before a Guarantee Control judge for the crime of femicide.
Yuli Henao was a teacher at El Cerrito school in the Perdidamedia village of Cimitarra. Her body is transferred to Forensic Medicine where the corresponding autopsy will be performed.

Students and colleagues of the teacher regretted what happened and asked the authorities for an exemplary sentence for this unfortunate event that could be classified as feminicide.
