This morning, in a solemn ceremony, Mayor Carlos Pinedo Cuello installed Marcela Sierra Cuello as the new City Manager, a position that carries the responsibility of promoting positive transformations in view of the commemoration of the 500 years of Santa Marta.

The new manager will be in charge of supporting the management and fulfillment of the objectives established in the Santa Marta 500 Más Development Plan, promoting balanced and competitive urban development.

Marcela Sierra Cuello, a specialist in Government and Public Policy with nearly 17 years of experience in strategic areas such as corporate communications, political strategies, crisis management, regulatory affairs and public-private alliances, expressed her enthusiasm for taking on this challenge. “As a woman, as Samaria, I feel honored to return to my roots and be part of the beginning of this city transformation, united by a common purpose“said Sierra during his inauguration speech.

Previously, Marcela Sierra served as Head of Public Affairs and Regulatory Strategy for Latin America at Polymateria, a British company that manufactures and markets biodegradable technology. Additionally, she served as Chief of Staff and Private Secretary of the Ministry of Environment and Sustainable Development of Colombia. where he led important legislative and political strategies.

In his new role, Sierra proposes a strategic approach for the development of Santa Marta, focusing on the continuous improvement of public administration and the construction of alliances with actors in the local and regional economic ecosystem, as well as with national and international organizations. Among his priorities are the construction of adequate infrastructure, access to basic services, the protection of natural resources and the promotion of sustainable economic activity, with a special emphasis on tourism and digital transformation.
