Moments of anguish lived the inhabitants of Venice, Antioquia, in the early hours of this Wednesday, June 26, after they showed up heavy rains that caused a disaster in the municipality due to the winter season.
And, according to the authorities’ reportheavy rains left some houses collapsed and people injured by the passage of torrents of mud and stones. They even reported the possibility of missing people due to this emergency in the early morning.
In some videos you can see how the waterfalls take over the main streets of this municipality, while, in turn, a heavy downpour falls in this area of the department of Antioquia that has been affected by winter.
Several people from the community went out into the street to help the neighbors and thus face the situation.. In some videos, people came out with all their rain gear and you can see how they are on the torrents of mud and stones helping others.
The heavy rains in Antioquia have left losses of more than $45,000 million to agricultural producers since the beginning of February, as reported by the Secretary of Agriculture of Antioquia, Rosa Acevedo.
Acevedo explained to Blu Radio that the agency has received reports from 29 municipalities in eight subregions of the department, which shows that the rainfall has been widespread throughout the territory. Due to the magnitude of the situation, the official called on the national authorities to provide comprehensive care to the victims.
