This Friday afternoon, the 1st National Tournament of the Argentine Taekwondo Federation was launched at the Tucumán Police Headquarters, aimed at employees of the police forces of the different provinces.

In that sense, the sabon nim (honorable teacher), Marcelo Ruiz Huidobro, He said: “We are gathered together for a very special day, the launch of the Argentine Taekwondo Federation Tournament, in which Tucumán will be the pioneer in holding a competition of this nature in all police forces. It will take place on November 16th, in the month of the Police.”

At the same time, Javier Barboza6th Dan of Taekwondo, instructor of the Taekwondo course of the Tucumán Police, said: “the tournament is going to be very important for the Argentine Federation and the Police since approximately 20 provinces are going to come to compete.”

He added: “There will be competition in the coloured belt and/or danes category, in the forms, tules and wrestling and power breaking modalities. It is a great joy for us as police instructors that we are having the first national tournament.”

To conclude, Huidobro argued that “the kids who are going to participate in the championship have been practicing for two years, they have a very important preparation. In August the 8th Self-Defense Course for police personnel will begin, those who participate in this preparatory course will also have the possibility of competing in the event.”
