The Ombudsman’s Office held a day to promote and protect the right to health in Riohacha, La Guajira, as part of the “Ombudsman in your Community” strategy. The initiative, led by the Delegate for Health and Social Security and the La Guajira Regional Office, together with the mayor’s office and the governor’s office, provided care to nearly 80 users.
The day resulted in significant figures, including the resolution of 50 cases, the filing of 12 guardianships and the presentation of 13 applications to the National Health Superintendency.
In addition, 14 people underwent HIV tests and 24 received vaccinations. In addition, officials from the Delegation and the Departmental and Municipal Health Secretariats gave talks and conferences on topics related to human rights, as well as dengue prevention.
The Ombudsman’s Office highlighted the participation of Fiduprevisora and the Health Promotion Companies that provide their services in the department, Supersalud, ConfaGuajira, Coosalud, Cajacopi, SaludTotal, Nueva Eps, Sanitas, Ana’s Wayuu, Dusakawi, Familiar de Colombia and Asociación Indigenous of Cauca (AIC).
Finally, public defenders provided professional attention to users with the aim of providing prompt and effective solutions to their needs.
