During the day, organized by the Comprehensive Approach to Problematic Consumption area of ​​the Ministry of Health in conjunction with the Secretary of State for Children, Adolescents and Family (SENAF), the girls and boys of the Casita de Neuhuen expressed and presented their points of view. view of the reality that is experienced from youth regarding problematic consumption.

The young people highlighted the need to unite the different institutions to act on the problem of drug abuse and advance the implementation of community policies.

They expressed that “we live in a society where consumption is everywhere, we not only talk about drugs but about a culture that invites us to consume constantly” and stressed the need to be heard: “We believe that we are part of the solution. “We are committed to creating a safer environment for everyone.”

The representative of the Comprehensive Approach to Problematic Consumption program, Norma Mora, pointed out that today, when everyone is debating substance consumption and trafficking, the protagonists and those who had the floor were young people and adolescents, and added that “clearly the boys and girls, in their own way, say the same thing that we adults are saying. They challenge us from the Government spaces to think about how we develop our actions, so I am very gratified.”

He pointed out that it was a different day in which “we spoke out strongly throughout the provincial territory with actions of the devices and teams that are working hard with the residents of our province to put this issue to word and be able to debate how problematic consumption impacts our health and, furthermore, from a ministerial decision, putting adolescents and youth on the agenda.”

Finally, he assured that “it is a very important step that we are taking to accompany the growth of adolescents and young people, and to work on prevention so as not to be late.”

The Secretary of Children, Adolescents and Family, Laura Demarco, expressed that “today we are giving priority to community spaces, bringing together all the ministries and also the Municipality. We made a joint schedule to define what the most urgent needs are in the neighborhoods of participation for adolescents, we unified resources and criteria, we are going to produce a clear document, that everyone can have, of training proposals, activities, listening, with different objectives.”

He added that they are trying to ensure that the APASA team can begin to address the problem with adolescents: “We are joining efforts, sharing tools to reach those adolescents who are not included in the system.”

Finally, he pointed out that “we have to continue articulating to accompany and care for adolescents in relation to other addictions that are not only substances, we know that there is a problem of consumption of digital media that is also growing, it is a challenge that we have. “We have to keep working.”

It is worth remembering that every June 26, the United Nations commemorates the International Day to Combat Drug Abuse and Illegal Trafficking, in reference to the contributions that Governments have made in favor of the fight against drug abuse. .
