Alfredo Cornejo He spoke this Wednesday after the meeting of governors of Together for Change, in which they ratified support for the Bases Law and the fiscal package that will be discussed this Thursday in the Chamber of Deputies.

The Mendoza president assured that It is necessary that the necessary tools and instruments be given to the national government so that I can move forward “the stabilization of the economy”.

“We need both the Basic Law and the fiscal package to be good for the country and good for our provinces. We believe they are useful laws, we believe the government needs them. “We have collaborated throughout this process so that they are sanctioned.”Cornejo indicated.

He also said that although there are different positions among the governors, mainly with regard to Personal Property and Income Tax, he explained that in general terms support is very important.

“Profits are one of the few taxes that apply to income, unlike what happens with the Value Added Tax (VAT) that applies to consumption or Gross Income, which is extremely regressive. “Developed countries have much higher property taxes than Argentina.”Cornejo added.

In this sense, the president expressed that the problem is not the Income Tax, but rather it is explained as “a tax on work”, something that is not like that. Furthermore, he assured that it is a coherent position, since when Sergio Massa advanced “the demagogic measure” to eliminate the fourth category, “radicalism voted against“.

Finally, he confirmed his participation that he will be present at the “July Pact“which would take place on Independence Day, but said that so far there has been no formal invitation.

“If there is an invitation we will be present. It is also important to see if this Pact will be the same as the one that was going to be given in May. No one can sign an agreement without knowing what those points are. If they are the same ones who showed up on March 1, I think that none of the governors who met today will have difficulties accompanying that.”he concluded.
