Due to the low collection rates in the payment of the energy bill, the company Air-e advances in the application of the so-called “continuity periods” thereby authorizing the suspension of energy service from 11:00 in the morning until 6:00 in the afternoon, from Monday to Saturdayfor large sectors of Sabanagrande, Luruaco, Piojó and Repelón.
The measure affects 14,000 users in this area of the Atlántico department, which is equivalent to an average of about 70,000 people, for a debt that exceeds $55 billion. Establishments in the commercial and educational sectors are also counted among those affected.
According to the company Air-e, the measure will be applied from this Friday, June 28, after socialization with mayors’ offices, legal entities and other entities. so that they “take the necessary actions to avoid their impact.”
Regarding the legal support of said “periods of continuity”, The company refers to article 2 of decree 0111 of 2012, compiled in decree 1073 article 2.2.3.1.2which allows them to implement these long periods of suspensions in areas where the collection goal exceeds 50%.
The above is reinforced by the fact that the subnormal sectors have meters installed totalizers by sectors, which generates collective payment billing.
Previously, the company applied the same strategy in Malambo since last June 4, which was in effect for four days, until the company reached an agreement with the Mayor’s Office to improve the collection rate.

In Sabanagrande, the neighborhoods that will be in a period of continuity are Betania, Centro, 2 de Marzo 2 stage, El Libertador, Fátima, Gaitán, La María 1 and 2, Los Caracoles, Primavera, Recreo, San Benito, San Francisco, San Juan Bosco, Santa Rita, Subnormal Frías, Villa Celina, Villa Marcela 1, 2 and third stage, Villa Maria and the rural area of Sabanagrande.
In Luruaco the following sectors: La Puntica, Los Límites, Arroyo de Piedra, Cordialidad, El Carmen, El Pasito, Federico Cervantes, La Esperanza, Candelaria, Centro, La Concepción, Los Pendales. Paraíso, Torcoroma urbanization, Socavón village, El Campo, La Bonga, La Central 1 and 2, La Loma, La Plaza, La Poza, Las Malvinas, Las Palmas, Los Almendros, Villa Carpa, San Juan de Tocagua, May 1, Arriba, Candelaria, Canta Rana, La Plaza, Malanga, Media Tapa, Quinta Orgullo, Sabanita, Santa Cruz, Barrigón, Centro, Cruz de Mayo, El Campo, The town of Luruaco is located in the province of San José, in the state of Baja California, Mexico.
