New revelations are known about the murder and subsequent dismemberment of a 19-year-old young man in the Las Granjas neighborhood, (Manrique), in Medellín, at the hands of two teenagers who confessed to the crime hours after having perpetrated it.
Due to the events, on Wednesday, June 26, the young attackers appeared before a guarantee control judge who granted them preventive detention in a special center for minors.

According to the investigations of the case, known by the local media Catfish Onlinethe victim was identified as Brayan Salas Loaiza, a young man from El Bagre (Antioquia), 19 years old, who was dedicated to field work on a coffee farm in the municipality of Andes (Antioquia).
According to the aforementioned media, Salas Loaiza would have met his murderer in that plot, where he established a friendship; However, the young man would have lost his job on the farm, so an offer from the 16-year-old teenager seemed like a good job opportunity in the capital of Antioquia.
Supposedly, the confessed murderer assured him that a job was waiting for him in Medellín at a car wash, reason enough for Salas Loaiza to travel to Medellín on June 17, the day his mother spoke with him for the last time.
However, the young man would not have lived in that city for more than 24 hours, because, the next day, The macabre discovery of his dismembered body was news in the neighborhood.
It was also learned that the victim came to stay at the house of his perpetrator, who would have taken advantage of the fact that Salas was sleeping to attack him with a sharp weapon.
A prosecutor from the Juvenile Criminal Responsibility Unit (URPA) charged the alleged murderer, aged 16, and his alleged accomplice, aged 17, with the crimes of torture and aggravated homicide.
The authorities will continue investigating to determine the motives that led the young man from El Bagre to commit the crime.
This case was uncovered on Tuesday, June 18, after the confession of a 16-year-old minor who approached the uniformed officers assigned to the Police Station of the 3-Manrique commune to provide the details of what happened.
Hours after the first person responsible provided information about the crime, another person, 17 years old, approached the station to indicate that he had also participated in the homicide.
The minor confessed to the police that she was also present at the events; however, it is unknown if she participated in the homicide or only saw what happened. “She states that she was present at the scene of the events and expresses some participation.“said General Óscar Andrés Lamprea, commander of the Metropolitan Police of the Aburrá Valley, on the day of the events.
According to information provided at that time, the minor approached the uniformed officers to tell them what happened and then confirmed his version to officials from the Attorney General’s Office.
The report indicated that the minor confessed that he murdered the man with a sharp weapon. Subsequently, he decided to dismember it, put the parts in a suitcase and two sacks, and then abandon them in a wooded area.
