A tragic accident has shocked the residents of the town of El Bordo, in the province of Salta. Two teachers hitchhiked route to get to work, but shortly after the vehicle in which they were traveling ran over two horses who crossed paths and one of the teachers he died at the scene.
The dramatic episode occurred this Wednesday morning at kilometer 1142 of National Route 34, near the El Prado area, on the border with Jujuy. According to what was reported by local media, the fatal victim was identified as Norma Córdoba, 52 years old.

According to the personnel who worked at the scene of the accident, The woman hitchhiked on the road with her partner, María Isabel Cuevas, to get to school No. 30 Juana Azurduy in the city of Monterrico.
In that context, a Toyota Etios driven by Gustavo Alurralde braked and picked them up. However, shortly after, a tragedy occurred: two horses ran across the road and the vehicle ended up running them over.

Due to the brutal impact, the car was thrown to the side. As a result, Córdoba suffered a multiple head trauma and died at the scene. Drivers in the area quickly called an ambulance and shortly afterwards Alurralde and Cuevas were taken to San Bernardo Hospital, where they were stabilised, but remain in serious condition.

Firefighters and police officers who worked in the area also confirmed the death of the two horses that were hit by the vehicle on the road.
On the networks, the friends and colleagues of the deceased teacher said goodbye to her with moving messages. “Today is a very sad day for all your neighbors, dear Norma Córdoba, finding out about your tragic accident paralyzed me, the helplessness of knowing that To practice your teaching profession you risked your life every day. It saddens me to know that I will not see you with that smile, joy and your wise advice. But this is how I will remember you, as a feisty, honest woman and such a good friend. My deepest condolences to your three children and your entire family.”

The authorities of the school where the teacher worked issued a statement and reported that this Thursday there will be no classes at the institution.
