Nora Cisneros, teacher of the subject Nursing Education IV at the University of Chubut, highlighted the importance of this activity that will be carried out at the university headquarters located at Avenida Holdich 960. “This activity marks the beginning of a significant project of university extension, aimed at raising awareness not only in that area, but in the entire community regarding the prevention and promotion of comprehensive health in communicable diseases such as HIV/AIDS,” said Cisneros.

The event, scheduled to begin at 2 p.m. on Friday the 28th, and conclude at 5 p.m., will feature the presence of Rocío Molino, coordinator of the Argentine Network of Positive Youth and Adolescents (RAJAP), who will travel from Comodoro Rivadavia to participate. as a lecturer.

The event will include an initial presentation followed by a space for debate, where topics such as discrimination and stigmatization towards people diagnosed with HIV will be addressed. “It is not only the responsibility of health teams to accompany people with HIV, but also a community responsibility to combat discrimination,” Cisneros emphasized.

The possibility of performing rapid HIV tests will be offered in the same place, thanks to the collaboration of fourth-year nursing students from the University of Chubut and health teams from the Esquel Programmatic Area. In addition, a participatory workshop on the use of vaginal condoms will be held, provided by the Ministry of Health and organizations such as the Mesa de la Cordillera and the Jáuregui Group.

Those interested in participating can register through a form available on the social networks of the University of Chubut. For those who cannot attend in person, a live broadcast of the event is being organized.
