The Río Grande Justice Department will investigate the resemblance between the daughter of Navy Captain Carlos Pérez, one of those detained for the disappearance of Loan Danilo Peña, and Sofía Herrera, the girl who went missing in September 2008, while the mother of the minor, María Elena Delgado, maintained that she already knows unofficially that it is not her first-born.
This week an image of a television news item that attracted attention went viral where the daughter of Pérez, the accused who was transferred to the Güemes prison, in the province of Salta, was interviewed about the arrest of the cash.
Later, several users stated that the teenager had “very similar” features to Sofía Herrera and thus various speculations began to take place.
The chief prosecutor of the Northern Judicial District, Martín Bramati, confirmed to a Tierra del Fuego media outlet that the case will be pursued to expand that line of investigation.
“Apparently the girl would be 14 years old and in principle she would not match Sofía’s age. But the idea is that we are faced with a situation where several issues are analyzed, such as the issue of human trafficking and border smuggling. It cannot be ruled out that the age is modified or the game is altered,” she argued.
In this regard, data will be requested from the National Registry of Persons (RENAPER) to obtain the birth certificate of Pérez’s daughter and from Immigration to find out if the minor was in Tierra del Fuego with her parents. Bramanti anticipated that the responses to these reports will take a long time.
“Information was requested from the Navy regarding the status of one of the detained persons, who would be the father of this girl (Carlos Pérez), and to see if he was actually in Ushuaia, if he retired in Ushuaia as was reported and “In what period was he in the city of Ushuaia or in the province included,” the prosecutor specified.
María Elena Delgado, Sofía’s mother, had revealed to Noticias Argentinas that she “did not see any resemblance” to Carlos Pérez’s daughter. She now assured that Justice has to make it official.
“It’s incredible how people collaborate in these types of cases. “They sent me photos of the girl when she turned 1 year old and that she was the biological daughter of that lady (Amanda Zacariaz),” Delgado said in a conversation with NA and considered that she is used to seeing photos of girls similar to her daughter.
“All the time I’m seeing images of little girls that could be Sofía,” the minor’s mother insisted.
