Daza, for his part, explained that “for a territory to be sustainable we have to see how to give value to people’s work, how to improve social organization, the socio-productive fabric and care for the environment,” while highlighting that in the forum, experiences in these three fields are presented, both from Argentina and from other countries.

The mayor of San Salvador de Jujuy, Raúl Jorge, was also present at the event, who valued the experiences that work on “small things that are great solutions with sustainability, with the circular economy, and in some way being able to integrate.”

The credits delivered during the meeting are part of the Program for the Social and Productive Development of Family Farmers and are destined for 29 projects, for an amount of 30 million.

As part of the forum, presentations were made on Biodiversity and Good Environmental Practices, Rural Tourism, Economy of Links, new models of tourism governance, ancestral and scientific knowledge, experiences of waste management from the community, Agroecology and business commitment to sustainability, with guests from Peru, Chile, Brazil and Bolivia.

A master class was also held on “Sustainable Urban Architecture”, “Ancestral Knowledge of Gastronomy”, “Transformational Leadership” and “Soil Regeneration and Health”.

In addition, a fair for sustainable entrepreneurs from Jujuy and special guests, a Sustainable Fashion show and a Sustainable Art exhibition were held.

The objectives of SOSTENTUR aim to generate a community of actors involved in sustainability processes; to develop joint actions in pursuit of each territory involved; devise and act in favor of sustainability in the province of Jujuy, between the community, the business sector and the states.
