Social Policy Council approved strategic agenda for 2024

At its second session, the Social Policy Council processed the socialization and unanimous approval of the Strategic Agenda for the period 2024 – 2027. At this meeting, the members of the Council, representatives of government entities and social organizations, established the guidelines and priorities that will guide actions in social matters during the next three years.

The Strategic Agenda reflects the priority themes aimed at addressing the needs and promoting the well-being of the country’s various population sectors. Among the topics addressed are social inclusion, gender equity, protection of vulnerable groups, access to basic services, health promotion and strengthening education, among other crucial aspects for comprehensive human development.

The document proposes five fundamental themes, which address crucial aspects to guarantee well-being and equity:

Special protection and prevention in the comprehensive development of early childhood, infancy and adolescence: Priority is given to strengthening the family, preventing teenage pregnancy, combating school dropouts, bullying, mental health, drugs, the System of Criminal Responsibility for Adolescents (SRPA) and the eradication of child labor, among other aspects.

Comprehensive care for specific groups: Focuses on providing comprehensive care to older adults, women, youth and the LGBTIQ+ population with emphasis on gender equity, citizen participation, productive development, access to higher education, job offers and prevention of gender-based violence. and gender.

Guarantee of the effective enjoyment of rights with an ethnic focus: It seeks to ensure the rights of the indigenous population, black, Afro-Colombian, Raizal and Palenquera communities, implementing food sovereignty and differential routes for cases of violence for ethnic and gender reasons.

Empowerment and social inclusion for people with disabilities: The effective enjoyment of human rights and fundamental freedoms, training in life skills, equality in access to the environment and employment, as well as actions for safe, road and sustainable mobility are promoted.

Guarantee of rights for vulnerable populations: Focuses on guaranteeing the rights of populations victims of the armed conflict, reinserted and reintegrated, migrants, street dwellers and freedom of religion, promoting the construction of peace, coexistence, reconciliation, respect for human rights and international humanitarian and prevention of human trafficking.
