The San Juan Medieval Fair returns for its fourth edition, promising an unforgettable experience with its most magical edition, without leaving behind the battles and adventures that characterize the event. Organized by “Castillos, Espadas y Brebajes”, this event will take place on Saturday, July 6 and Sunday, July 7, from 6 to 11 pm, at the Amadeo Conte Grand Cultural Center, located at San Luis 701, San Juan Capital.

This year, the fair aims to be an immersive experience. Unlike previous editions, there will be more participation from “characters” or NPCs that will accompany visitors throughout the experience.

As every year, the Order of Fire will present medieval combats. One of the most popular events, there is reenactment with real armor evoking medieval times.

There will also be a medieval-themed crafts market, from exquisite jewelry to handcrafted armor. Medieval games will not be left out, including archery and a softcombat space, suitable for all ages.

There will be a medieval tavern, a space prepared to taste food and drinks, including: authentic beers and mead. In addition, fantasy dances, traditional music, circus acts and incredible feats will be presented that will transport you to medieval times.

A fair made for the love of having fun

María Ayelén Messina is from Carpintería, and she has to travel three hours every time she participates in the fair. She is one of the many invisible hands that carry out this project: “The truth is that for two days it doesn’t seem like it, but it takes months of effort in advance. It is gratifying to see how much fun everyone who comes has. I didn’t think I would fall in love with something about this situation, this event and the way it is planned,” she said.

Cristian Aguilera, another volunteer, said: “To this day I continue to learn new things, through the camaraderie I have thanks to the people I have by my side. Every day I am taught a new technique, something new to learn and put into practice. Learning things that I have never done before helps a lot to get out of the routine, but it frees you up and you have a good time,” he explained.

Finally, another of the volunteers told HUARPE DIARY: “We are a work group with its responsibilities, its time, respecting the effort and work of others. So, let’s say, that’s how volunteering is experienced. It involves work because it is the responsibility to ensure that the fair turns out in the best way, but it also involves a good time, a good time with excellent people,” he concluded.
