The company Air-e had announced the suspension of service for seven hours a day for six days a week due to non-payment of bills in the so-called special zones. This measure was also going to affect the provision of water service in other municipalities of the department.

This measure is called the continuity period, which consists of delivering energy in proportion to the default in a certain area. In the last few hours, a meeting was held at the Governor’s Office, where a package of commitments was made.

“We arrived with the willingness to explore, together with the governor and the mayors, a series of measures that allow us to stop the suspension process. of the service that we had announced in these special areas where there are difficulties for access to the entire commercial cycle,” said the general manager of Air-e, Santiago Posso.

Through a statement, the Atlantic Government, indicated that “in addition to suspending the energy reasoning, the commitment of the mayors to carry out socialization work in their communities was determined so that households take advantage of the ‘I’m going to win’ plan. which consists of maintaining a positive and constant payment habit over a period of 18 months with the company’s commitment to forgive interest and other concepts of the overdue debt.”

In this same sense, a commitment was made to reinforce the process of normalizing neighborhoods that has been working on a pilot basis. in the sectors of Barahona in Baranoa and Las Marías II in the municipality of Sabanagrande.

In the statement, it was indicated that “finally, it was agreed to continue with these work tables on a monthly basis to share the initiatives advanced and ensure compliance with the indicators that allowed the suspension of energy to be reversed, especially in the area of ​​improving the collection of the delinquent portfolio in these areaswhich is why we expect compliance from mayors and residents so that this situation can be overcome.”

The mayor of Galapa, Fabián Bonett, stated that this meeting was very necessary to publicize the status of the debt by Air-e and thus give better management to the issue in its municipality.
