The Rioja Cultural Centre will not open its doors until at least Monday. The Logroño City Council, in view of the situation caused by the breakage of a water pipe and the subsequent flooding of part of the third floor of the building, has decided that it will remain closed during the weekend. The activities scheduled for these days will be moved to the Espacio Lagares.
The damage caused in the early hours of Thursday and the cleaning and inspection work that must be carried out to guarantee the cleanliness and safety of the area have led the City Council to make this decision.
Firefighters and cleaning staff went to the CCR on Thursday morning to fix the problems caused by the breakdown. Meanwhile, municipal employees working on the third floor were relocated to City Hall or have worked remotely. The intention is to reopen the CCR on Monday, provided conditions are adequate.
