The procedures took place this morning in the capital and other points. The investigation had begun in Córdoba and the organization was made up of people from Tucumán and Córdoba.

During the night, 46 raids were carried out in different parts of Tucumán to dismantle a criminal organization dedicated to bank robberies and “window-breaking” robberies in Córdoba, among other actions. Other procedures were carried out in the Mediterranean province.

The mega operation was carried out this Friday, within the framework of an investigation initiated in Córdoba by the prosecutor Ivan Rodriguez to dismantle a gang made up of people from Tucumán and Córdoba.

According to the case, the Tucuman members committed crimes mainly in Córdoba, but their main base was in Tucumán. While the Cordoba part apparently provided all the logistics to carry out the attacks.

“It was a gang made up of people from Córdoba and Tucumán. Those from there received them and gave them logistical support. Together they did intelligence work to plan each of the robberies. After carrying out the attacks, they returned to the province,” reported the Minister of provincial security, Eugenio Aguero Gamboa, who was one of those responsible for this Friday’s operation. His Cordoba couple also participated, Juan Pablo Quinterosprosecutor Rodríguez and representatives of the Tucuman justice system.

“All those arrested have criminal records in Tucumán. They have already been sentenced for this type of offence, they were suspended sentences, so they could not act in Tucumán,” he said. He added: “For that reason and taking advantage of the fact that they are not recognised there, they were acting in Córdoba.”

Of those 46 raids, 44 were carried out in San Miguel de Tucumán. The rest were in the interior of Tucumán. So far, four arrests have been reported and weapons, vehicles and drugs have been seized, among other items.

The investigation was framed in cases initiated by attacks by Tucuman “glass breakers” in different provinces, including Córdoba.
