We congratulate the Transport Workers on their Day, who are working hard to overcome the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the United States, which seeks to prevent the entry of financing and fuel to Cuba, declared the party leader in X.

To date, through its Facebook profile, the Ministry of Transportation consolidated the unity and commitment of the sector despite the fact that it currently faces several challenges.

The celebration began with the First Congress of the National Union of the sector, which took place from June 25 to 29, 1971, and where the workers’ organizations of the sector existing at that time were unified: Transport, Railway and Aviation.

With the presence of the historic leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro, and in coordination with the secretariat of the union executive elected there, June 28 was declared as Transport Workers’ Day.

The commemoration aims to recognize the work of union members in the sector and the desire to advance transportation services, despite the restrictions on access to spare parts and other accessories resulting from the blockade.
