A video of a horse lying on a public road in Neiva, upset and showing signs of pain, was revealed this Thursday by Senator Andrea Padilla, who harshly criticized the organizers of the parade held this weekend in the capital of Huila.
“These are the cavalcades that drunks, thugs, and miserable abusers defend! A parade that was in charge of the @HuilaGob,” wrote the congresswoman dedicated to the defense of animals in the country.
According to Padilla, “The little horse was treated after fainting due to exhaustion and heat stroke” and in another recording a mare appears floating, apparently, in the Magdalena River.
“How can we defend this cruelty, this vile and merciless attitude towards animals? Do you really think that this is a cultural practice that deserves to be preserved? We know that we do not have the support in Congress to ban them. We hope, however, that they support the project we are launching to regulate them strictly and without consideration, for the good of the animals and public order.”, he expressed.
In Ibagué, thanks to legal actions filed by lawyer Juan Felipe Rodríguez, horseback riding is prohibited.
