After achieving his goal, the person who appears in the video climbs back onto the motorcycle that was waiting for him a few meters away and flees with the driver.

But later the uniformed police officers, following the coordinates indicated by the 123 security monitoring system, managed to locate the motorcycle and capture the young Valenciano, who was aboard the previously identified vehicle, but was also carrying a .38 caliber revolver.

However, the items he allegedly stole were not seized, and the official report does not mention that any other person was captured in the encircling operation on the city’s roads.

Furthermore, the vehicle in which he was traveling, that is, the gray Yamaha motorcycle that had presumably been used to commit the crime, had adulterated license plates.

Official sources told this newspaper that so far it has not been possible to establish whether Valenciano Yepes was the one driving the motorcycle or the one who took advantage of it to commit the theft.

According to the information he provided to the authorities, Valenciano Yepes is 18 years old, a high school graduate, single, works in various jobs and lives in the Villa Hermosa neighborhood of Medellín.

Among the items that were allegedly seized were a gold chain and a cell phone valued at $9,700,000, which were not recovered in the action.

The son of the soccer star is expected to be presented in the next few hours at the respective hearing to legalize his arrest, where a prosecutor will have to formulate the charges he could face, for aggravated and qualified theft, trademark falsification and manufacturing, and trafficking and possession of firearms.

It is worth noting that his father, the so-called Valencian “bomber”, has been considered one of the top scorers in national football, with 217 goals and is definitely one of the main references for Junior de Barranquilla, where he scored 158 goals. He also played for Independiente Medellín, Deportivo Cali and Atlético Bucaramanga. After his retirement, in 2010 he was the forwards coach of the Real Cartagena team.

However, the life of this idol has also been plagued by scandal due to his addictions and his time in prison. In 2023, he was even arrested for a few days in the United States after being caught driving while intoxicated.

Last March, another of his sons was immersed in another scandal after having attacked his former romantic partner. Initially some media reported that it was Aldair Valenciano, but later he came out to clarify that it was not him but his brother Iván René Jr.
