The Council declared the new Santa Fe-Santo Tomé bridge of priority interest

The Municipal Council declared the construction and execution of a new bridge connecting the cities of Santa Fe and Santo Tomé to be of priority interest. It was during the session this Thursday, in which the councilors expressed their unanimous support for the project – which would be carried out by the provincial government – considering it “a project that comes to settle a pending debt of the government of the Nation with the department of La Capital.”

In addition, the councilors spoke out regarding the signing of the collaboration agreement between the Ministry of Public Works of the Province, the Senate, the Chamber of Deputies and the municipalities of Santa Fe and Santo Tomé for the realization of the feasibility studies of the new bridge, which would be parallel to the Highway Bridge.

Construction work could begin in 2025. To do so, it is necessary to have technical feasibility in water, environmental, urban and structural matters, in order to guarantee the correct execution of the work.

“This is a project that began to be worked on at the beginning of the new government’s administration, developing it responsibly, studying alternatives, previous projects, analyzing variables and taking levels of the type of soil found in the bed of the Salado River,” said Councilman Leandro González.

“Governor Pullaro’s decision to not only make a claim but also to act is also a clear and concrete decision by a provincial government that is short on money but which shows that with efficiency and management things can be done despite the headwinds,” the councillor continued.

To conclude, González said that “as councilors we declared the bridge as a priority project and the news is that the bridge will be built.” “We are confident that Governor Pullaro’s word is valid and we embrace this political decision that will benefit thousands and thousands of residents of both cities,” he concluded.
