John Córdoba joins Falcao as a reinforcement for Millonarios

John Córdoba, one of the figures of the Colombian soccer champion, Atlético Bucaramanga, decided to stay in Colombia despite having received offers from international teams. In an interview with Blog Deportivo, the forward revealed the reasons behind this decision.

“I feel like there are still things to improve and the truth is that it would be good to do it here in Colombia, to be able to make the jump well and not turn back,” said Córdoba, who scored four times in the first half of 2024.

Despite the interest shown by teams from Spain (Real Betis), Portugal and Argentina (San Lorenzo), the player preferred to mature professionally in his country before making the leap abroad and thus polish some of his characteristics as a forward.

Are you ready with Millonarios?

Thus, Córdoba shed light on what would be his imminent move to Millonarios. Although there are other Colombian teams interested in his services, the forward is closer to joining the capital team.

In fact, he revealed that the only thing missing is the medical examinations and the terms of the economic agreement will be closed in the coming days to finalize his transfer and be officially announced.

“Yes, now, everything is already arranged. I hope to do all the medical examinations and wait for the arrival to take place,” added the recent league champion when winning the final against Santa Fe, Millonarios’ domestic rival.

Córdoba, who is free after his time at Atlético Bucaramanga, explained that he would arrive on loan to Millonarios with an option to buy. This option allows the club to participate in future operations if the player is transferred again.

John Córdoba expressed his desire to reach the international level representing his country. Therefore, his decision to stay in Colombia for one more season promises to be a key contribution for Alberto Gamero’s team, which will have the signing of the year: Radamel Falcao García.
