Defender Carlos Cuesta and forward Jhon Córdoba will start for Colombia this Friday in the Copa América against Costa Rica, which will have a more offensive side by adding forward Warren Madrigal to its attack.

The Genk defender from Belgium will form the central pairing with Davinson Sánchez in the game corresponding to the second day of Group D, in which the coffee growers will seek to qualify early for the quarter-finals.

Cuesta will replace John Lucumí, who suffered a muscle injury in the Colombians’ winning debut against Paraguay (2-1) on Monday in Houston, Texas.

Córdoba (Krasnodar, Russia), for his part, will take Rafael Santos Borré’s place as ‘9’.

Costa Rica will have a modification compared to the starting eleven that tied without goals with Brazil in Inglewood, California.

Warren Madrigal, from Deportivo Saprissa, 19 years old, enters in place of first-line midfielder Jefferson Brenes, in a more offensive bet by coach Gustavo Alfaro.

The game takes place at State Farm Stadium, in Glendale, Arizona, from 10:00 p.m. GMT.
