Surprise in the starting lineup

The Colombian National Team will face Costa Rica in the second round of Group D of the Conmebol Copa América. The match will be at the State Farm Stadium, in Glendale, Arizona. With a win, the ‘Tricolor’ will secure its qualification to the quarterfinals.

The biggest change is that Córdoba is in the starting lineup in place of Rafael Borré. Although the Barranquilla native’s game against Paraguay was not good, he will be removed due to inflammation after being stamped on in the first matchday. Another change is in the back line, with Cuesta replacing the injured Jhon Lucumí.

Otherwise, it is the same lineup used by Nestor Lorenzo against the Guaranis. Colombia will go with Camilo Vargas; Daniel Munoz, Davinson Sanchez, Carlos Cuesta, Johan Mojica; Jefferson Lerma, Richard Rios; Jhon Arias, James Rodriguez, Luis Diaz; Jhon Cordoba.

The only new addition for Costa Rica is the entry of Warren Madridal for Jefferson Brenes. The tacit formation of Gustavo Alfaro, an ultra-defensive coach, would be a 5-4-1.
