Cienfuegos, June 28 (RHC) Dr. Orquídea Urquiola Sánchez, Rector of the University of Cienfuegos Carlos Rafael Rodríguez, received with pleasant surprise and extraordinary commitment the news of being a Numeral Honorary Member of the World Council of University Academics and Researchers, and of Women of Science.
“This is a recognition given to academics and researchers,” he says, “who demonstrate a very high level of ethical commitment, a dedication to the application of good practices in the interest of education and research, especially in the training of this new generation.”
A tremendous commitment to continue doing what has always been done.
“I will continue to facilitate, from the position I occupy, that these processes flow in an appropriate manner, with excellent quality, as required by the times we are living in. More commitment, more responsibility, more dedication.”
The Cienfuegos university has signed around 150 agreements with various institutions and organizations and a large part of them correspond to teaching entities, which include research projects.
The University of Higher Studies has seven lines of research aimed at the development of the country, including energy, technology and the environment.
They accumulate a total of 17 leading projects in the energy efficiency network of Higher Education, highlighting national and international programs.
Postgraduate master’s and doctoral programs are combined for Cuban and foreign professionals.
