Eastern Cuba promotes its attractions for foreign trade and investment During the business forum of the 19th edition of the ExpoCaribe International Fair, the eastern provinces and those of Camagüey, Ciego de Ávila and Villa Clara presented their respective portfolios of opportunities to nearly 30 foreign delegations. The opportunities offered by some 192 development projects in Eastern Cuba – mainly in the sectors of tourism, renewable energy, agri-food, industry and mining – were highlighted within the framework of the business forum of the 19th edition of the ExpoCaribe International Fair before delegations from several countries in Latin America, Europe and Africa.

According to Antonio Carricarte Corona, President of the Chamber of Commerce of the Republic of Cuba, the results of the event constitute “a message about the business perception that the Greater Antilles presents to the world, especially its eastern zone, in line with the development projects of the territories and the commitment of support from the Government and the Chamber,” so that a dozen foreign companies agreed to do business with Cuban entities and provincial governments.

What was presented at the Forum was marked by its minimum levels of investment, high recovery rates and solid opportunities for long-term partnerships, and with demonstrated interest on the part of the diplomatic corps, chambers of commerce and foreign investors, demonstrating the “vitality of this Fair, established as the second commercial exchange in the country,” highlighted Carricarte Corona.
